Blaming outdated hardware and slow internet (ha), and because we were due for an internet upgrade anyway, we upgraded our network hardware recently.

This happened on our old firewall, switch, and internet equipment, and it happens on the new stuff.

Hardware issues: This happens in both locations.

This happens on two brands of phone (Yealink and Polycom).

Also, dropped calls happen regardless of how busy the pipes are. Internet issues: We upgraded from 30/30 EoC in Seattle to 500/500 Fiber.

Vonage issues: I took my phone home and made a 93 minute call before I hung up.

I've tried QoS and guaranteed bandwidth, both with no help. Devices on VLAN 50 have unfettered outbound access.

Firewall issues: per recommendations, SIP-ALG is off (though I tried it on).

What I've tried and think I've eliminated: No further return UDP traffic comes through. UDP traffic goes from being bi-directional to being outbound only.

What the network looks like when the call drops: I did PCAPs from the Phone, VLAN side of the M300, and the WAN side of the M300. In my testing, the call dropped in a range from 2 minutes to 47 minutes. Internet: 50Mb/50Mb Ethernet over Copper through Integra (their modem/router are bridged to my router, but they have a Hatteras and Adtran.I can't touch either configuration)Īnyone can be on a phone call and the call will drop at any time.
