Spark! Pro series – 11th March 2022 Spiceworks Originals. If I either put the phones on VLAN 1 and used static IPs, or somehow got the Netgear onto VLAN 50, would that work? Is that the proper way to have 2 routers that are internet gateways on one switch/network? Why did my internet go to crap when I had both routers set up? I have a feeling it's because the phones are on VLAN 50 and the Netgear, while on the same subnet, is on VLAN 1 (by default).

I tried setting my phone's default gateway to the Netgear, but it would fail registration (it didn't work). I gave my computer an IP on the same subnet so I could communicate with it. It was only after I reconnected the WG directly to the Integra Adtran that traffic resumed its normal speed.īefore I removed the configuration, though, I did test it and try to get it to work. Speed tests were only at 500Kbps instead of the usual 12Mbps we get. Internet access for the entire network was slowed. I've turned off DHCP and plugged LAN port 1 into my main switch. I've configured the Netgear with a WAN IP address of and a LAN IP address of 10.82.20.254. I have removed the IP I gave it from the WatchGuard's configuration. I have put a $90 Netgear R6220 also on that switch, with a static IP address (we had a couple extras). I have put an 8-port gigabit switch inbetween the Integra Adtran and my firewall. I don't think switching providers is going to do it. I've been troubleshooting this for weeks. People are dropping calls in the middle of important conference calls and depositions, so I'm feeling the heat.Ĭan anyone help? I've done my research.

Also, dropped calls happen regardless of how busy the pipes are. Internet issues: We upgraded from 30/30 EoC in Seattle to 500/500 Fiber.

What the network looks like when the call drops: I did PCAPs from the Phone, VLAN side of the M300, and the WAN side of the M300. In my testing, the call dropped in a range from 2 minutes to 47 minutes. Internet: 50Mb/50Mb Ethernet over Copper through Integra (their modem/router are bridged to my router, but they have a Hatteras and Adtran.I can't touch either configuration)Īnyone can be on a phone call and the call will drop at any time. I'll tell you about my location (Tacoma) because I can more easily test it. We have 2 locations with similar network hardware but different internet providers.
